Let's Get Real: Idealspaze Lockdown Stories

Published By  admin at  June 14, 2020

COVID-19 that emerged last year in China, has knocked doors of almost every country all over the world. The lockdown in India began on 24 th March 2020 and made citizens take on the shield of social distancing & home quarantine. In the beginning it was hard to picture ourselves bounded by our own walls, but with the number of cases on rise we are settling ourselves in the routine of staying home in our own way. The time has undoubtedly brought out the chef, the artist, the designer, the OCD for cleaning & what not! This time has also been very crucial in bonding with family and bringing out the warmth of togetherness that was quite missing pre-lockdown. Some are brushing their old skill set, some are trying new, while our GPS is immobile, our interests are definitely travelling around.

The world has witnessed a lockdown after more than 150 years, in the era where businesses are flourishing, factories are rising, phones are ringing throughout the day…as if the world never sleeps. In between the hustle-bustle we resorted to procrastination when it came down to making room for ourselves in our own daily schedule. While the world has paused, our mind found a way out by restoring the thoughts that used to flutter away.

Our interior designers discovered lockdown transformation, best work-from-home corners, favourite Netflix & Chill room etc., through their love for interiors. While indulging in online interior design meetings, our designers took a self-interior consultation check and found ways to spruce up their rooms.

“Its okay to not have a plan sometimes. The unimaginable situations bring out the best in you. With the news of first lockdown, I was ready to take up the challenge to not let the closed doors take a toll on my daily schedule. The work-from-home soon took over the work-from-office schedule. I found the perfect spot to spend quarantine days and I turned it into my workspace! I setup my table right by the window and arranged desk plants for the green that evidently soothes mind (it’s proven!). It was truly a first time experience at the convenience of my own place. Definitely the best place to work during lockdown!”

”After the first week, I decided to do a lockdown interior decor transformation in my own room. Surprisingly I found unused corners & shelves that could be perfectly used for DIY decorations, furnishings etc. I changed my curtains, moved the bedside table & placed few DIY coasters & jewellery box, and ended by adding fairy lights. I had been doing such quirky transformation weekly and every week starts with a new boosting energy.”

“I saved my spare time for my favourite three things to do in quarantine- Netflix, coffee & sitting in my living room! Putting on the dim lights, sitting on my sofa and the adjacent TV just make for the perfect weekend while I binge on my favourite show. The placement and alignment of furniture is an important aspect and a little change might give you the perfect chilling spot.”

We are missing the office adrenaline rush, project discussions, on-site construction checks, meeting different clients & hearing stories of their dream homes every day. While the services have resumed, it’s a lot different than before but together we will rise through this. We pledged to make the best out of our quarantine days by doing what we love the most! We say no to lockdown sulking & yes to creating memories.
